Though it took many days to cut through the swaths of idiots and dense vegitation, my bearer party along with my most trusted Jibbo, "Mangdulgadabojismoshandowallla" and about 15 of the finest Black Guard Scottland has to offer.
Upon breaking through the growth and clearing a base camp for the expedition, the Jibbos inform me that a strange tribe of rejects and has-never-beens is infact located just a scant crossing of the creek over the hill. I will see if I can sneak up and observe these miserable indigeni from up close but remain unobserved.

Sat, August 22, 2009 - 9:54 PMDay Two: Entry 2: August 22, 2009.
For some reason the local Jibbos are asking for us to stab them with our side sheathed daggers. Though often times I do admit I love the Scotts Black guard tradition of just nailing a couple of the Jibbos up to a tree for firing practice. I am not sure I have the heartlessness to merely stab one and leave him to die. Our Lord Jesus Christ has given me some compassion for these miserable wretches, but it will only carry me so far.
FOr now it shall taste my boot.

Sat, August 22, 2009 - 10:04 PMHow cute. Colonial narrative. And the implicit assumption that colonist is not the one who is inferior, primitive, and an idiot.
Where does that put you, Fineius (mispelled Irish name, confused about your priorities and position with regard to colonial narrative) tuberculosis? -

Re: Day one: August Twenty First, in the year of our lord Two Thousand and Nine.
Sat, August 22, 2009 - 10:24 PMTrue. John Wesley Powell respected the Ute Indians enough to be one of the few Indian agents who didn't give smallpox-laden blankets to the Utes. After the Colorado River, he got the USGS Director's chair. And played the political game with Congress well enough to keep the agency running.
This Fineus (correct spelling Phinneas, like the lead character in Jules Verne's "Around the World in 80 Days") is so lame that I haven't even responded to him. Not worth the time. -

Sun, August 23, 2009 - 5:26 PMIndian agents and explorers are hardly the same people.
Indian agents were politicians and bureaucrats, with some idealogues, zealots and haters (in the name of Jesus Christ) thrown in for good measure.
Explorers are adventureres, scientists, nomads, travelers, free spirits.

Sun, August 23, 2009 - 7:32 PMThis is cute!
I think it's a troll
trying to troll the moon trolls that
have landed in our midst..
(he mentions "idiot's"...)
Still perplexed as to why these trolls want to spend
so much time and energy being around people
who are so much better than they are...
most people don't want to be around people
who make them feel inferior.
Interesting psychological phenomenon for study.
